In my time I have had the the opportunity to read more books than one about this great man. His genius was immeasurable as well as his generosity, his kindness, understanding and love of nature.I believe all mankind could read books about the life of this great man to the point where we could all absorb and understand his view of life and how precious it is and our relationship with nature. If you don't know yet who I'm talking about it is
Albert Einstein 1879-1955
The following are a few of his thought provoking quotes.
"The release of atomic energy has not created a new problem. It has merely made urgent the necessity of solving an existing one."
"As far as the laws of mathematics refer to reality, they are not certain; as far as they are certain, they do not refer to reality."
"you cannot simultaneously prevent and prepare for war."
Personal thoughts
Education is the solution for 99.9 percent of the problems facing mankind today. Ignorance has been the decease that has instinctively plagued us in the past.
Religion, Bigotry, ignorance and prejudice have been responsible for far too many deaths in this world. More than all the wars combined.
Politician:
Webster gives us a definition, "One actively engaged in politics; Often one seeking or holding a political office; As distinguished from statesman." Interesting however I've come to the conclusion that today the term is taken as a derogatory remark whereas one could only conclude that it meant one who seeks public office scheming for personal gain and power.
Morals:
Again from Webster, "Relating to, dealing with, or capable of distinguishing between right and wrong in conduct. Of teaching in accordance with the principles of right and wrong. Good or right in conduct or character." Notice there is no mention of religion. You do not have to be a religious person to be moral.
The Two Party System
When the Founders of the American republic wrote the U.S. Constitution in 1787, they did not envision a role for political parties in the governmental order. They sought through various constitutional arrangements such as separation of powers, checks and balances, and indirect election of the President by an electoral college to insulate the new governmental order from political parties and factions. In spite of the Founders' intentions, the U.S. was the first nation to develop parties organized on a national basis and to transfer executive power from one faction to another via an election in 1800. This in itself is the root of our problems, the two party system. it would have been better to have been three. This has become a paradox where the American people become the looses no matter who wins.
