Story:
A Jeweled Rose; this was a cut rose I wanted to paint because of its red, yellow and orange mix. The dew drops give it a sense of freshness I could have shown no other way. I selected a 12” x 16” x 1 ½” canvas and painted a shadow green background using acrylic paint. Adding a thorny branch with leaves provides a feeling of realism... I spent approximately two hours on this painting before I decided to stop.
