Story:
Strawberry pie and ice cream certainly brings back memories of my mother baking this pie with strawberries from our own garden and home made ice cream. It was best served warm. These were the days before anyone even knew what air condition was but we had a screen door which kept the flies out. World War II was being fought over seas and so many things were rationed included sugar for a pie such as this. Ice cream was made from the cream taken from the top of the bottles the milkman would deliver.The news came across the airwaves into our radios spoken by real news people with no agenda. The high technology of television, computers and other electronics were only fiction maybe seen in a Buck Rodgers movie that cost .09 cents to go an see. But we were happy.
