Painting # 2124-Landscape
Story:
I painted the sky first using a bit of Paynes gray, mixed with white and a little bit of Pathalo blue. I wanted a darker background rather than a realistic sky for contrast. For the clouds I mixed orange and yellow then blended in a lot of white with my finger. I decreased the scale of the town with the church to emphasize the distance of the horizon from the river. The foreground ie just that, Shapes that depict trees. I decided not to show foliage which I felt would detract from the shapes. The final impact for the viewer is a surrealistic endless depth.
